Day to day
Resident life
Nothing here is compulsory. Residents join in when they want to, and are left in peace when they would rather be.
What happens in a week
Our events menu changes every two weeks, so the same things do not come around too often. It is posted in the home, and families are welcome to ask for a copy.
Music
Sing-songs, live players and old favourites on the radio.
Bingo
A fixture of the week, and competitive.
Baking
Scones and tarts, eaten the same afternoon.
Gentle exercise
Seated movement to keep joints and confidence going.
Arts and crafts
Seasonal making, cards and painting.
Storytelling
Residents' own stories of farming, work and family.
Prayer
Rosary and religious services for those who wish to attend.

Jerry at the table after breakfast, waiting on the morning to get going.
Most of the day here looks like this: sitting where the light is good, talking to whoever passes, and joining in when something is on.

Julia in the sitting room, dressed up for the afternoon.
Residents keep their own style and routines. Julia likes to be in the room when the music is on and people are coming through.
Links with the local community
Ballinora and Waterfall are close by, and the home is not cut off from them. Over the year we welcome:
- The local choir
- Members of the Men's Shed
- Therapy dogs
- Visits from local schoolchildren
Celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter and St Patrick's Day are all marked properly, with food and music. If a family wants to hold a small celebration here, tell us and we will make room for it.
Families are welcome to join in
You do not need to wait for an occasion. Come to the bingo, come to the sing-song, bring the grandchildren, or simply sit with your relative over tea. Visitors are welcome at all reasonable times.
