Our people

Meet the Team

Since 1996, Norwood Grange has been family-owned and family-run. We are a small home of just 30 residents by choice, so every resident is known by name and every family knows who to talk to. Here are some of the people who make Norwood Grange feel like home.

Charlie and Eilis Farrell

Founders

Charlie and Eilis formed the Norwood Grange that we know today over three decades ago, believing a nursing home should feel like home, and the people staying there should feel like family. That belief still guides everything we do. From the very beginning, they built the home around warmth, dignity and a personal touch, where every resident and family is known by name. Today, as directors of Butterfly Care Limited, they remain at the heart of the Norwood Grange family, and their values live on as Orla and Harry carry their legacy forward.

Orla O'Sullivan

Director of Services and Registered Provider Representative

Norwood Grange was a huge part of family life for Orla growing up. As Charlie and Eilis's daughter, she visited often and loved joining in the home's celebrations. After several years in the FMCG sector, it was only natural that she would join her parents at Norwood Grange, which she did in 2016, working side by side with them until their semi-retirement in 2020. Today Orla looks after the day-to-day running of the home, including Finance, HR, Governance and Quality, and is our non-clinical link with HIQA. She holds a BSc in Business Information Systems and a Higher Diploma in Leadership and Management, and is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).

Anne Marie Prendergast

Director of Nursing and Person in Charge

Anne Marie brings over 30 years of nursing experience, with a career centred on caring for older people in both residential and community settings. She holds a Degree in Nursing Studies from the University of Limerick and has worked her way from staff nurse to Clinical Nurse Manager, and most recently Nursing Operations Manager. A qualified trainer, she is passionate about supporting staff, clinical excellence and person-centred care guided by the FREDA principles. As Person in Charge, she is our clinical link with HIQA. Anne Marie first worked at Norwood Grange as a staff nurse in 2016, and we are delighted to welcome her back to lead our nursing and care team.

Harry O'Sullivan

Health and Safety Officer

Harry came to Norwood Grange from a career in IT, and in 2020 he took over the running of the home alongside his wife, Orla. Here he found what he loves most: working with people. As Health and Safety Officer, he keeps residents, staff and visitors safe, from fire safety systems and evacuation drills to staff training and risk assessments. Together with Catherine, he looks after the building and grounds. But ask any resident and they'll tell you Harry is just as likely to be found stopping for a chat, a joke or a cup of tea.

Catherine O'Connor

Facilities Manager

Catherine brings years of experience in the hospitality and construction industries, and she is a natural organiser with an eye for detail. Together with Harry, she manages the home's buildings and grounds, overseeing housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and the contractors who help keep Norwood Grange in top condition. Her hospitality background shapes the resident experience too: she makes sure every room is comfortable, every space is welcoming, and the home runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Our Wonderful Support Team

The heart of Norwood Grange

Behind these names is a team of 34 nurses, healthcare assistants, chefs and kitchen staff, housekeeping and laundry staff, activities coordinators and administration staff. They are chosen not only for their skills but for their kindness, gentleness and genuine love of caring for others. Whether it's a freshly cooked meal, a sing-along in the day room, a spotless room or a listening ear, they are the people who make every day at Norwood Grange feel like home.
